  • Winter Skin? A 2-Step Solution

One of the keys to youthful looking skin is moisture, especially during the colder months when dry air can strip you dry. So how do you get moisture into the skin and make it stay there? With a little TLC from a couple of medical-grade skin care products that work to clean up the outer layer of the skin and infuse it with moisture.

    The Benefits of Exfoliation

Chances are, those wrinkles you see are being emphasized by dead skin cells on the surface of the skin. Retinol which everyone over the age of 30 should have as part of their skincare regimen, helps to turn cells over, but you still need some help in removing those dead skin cells. That's where exfoliation comes in. Whether it's professional microdermabrasion or chemical peels, or a good at-home exfoliation product, exfoliating clears off that layer of dead skin to reveal fresh, glowing skin underneath. Once revealed, it’s time to hydrate up with a boost of moisture.

    Add Essential Moisture

No matter how good your moisturizer is, sometimes we all need a little boost of essential moisture. That's where adding a hydrating serum, such as HA Serum, comes in to give your skin what it needs: A drink of water. HA Serum is a hyaluronic acid-based product that will add essential moisture and, thereby, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

  • Love Your Skin This Winter

There’s nothing harsher on the skin than the 1-2 punch it gets in the winter with freezing temperatures outside and artificially dry heat inside. The result is a lack of hydration and a build up of dead skin cells on the surface of the skin, both of which exacerbate the appearance of age and wrinkles. Show your skin some love this winter with these 3 simple steps:

    1. Hydrate

The key to youthful looking skin is pretty simple: hydration! And sometimes even the richest moisturizers alone don’t cut it. Try adding a hydrating serum for a hydration boost that won’t let your skin dry out. Be sure to wear it under your winter moisturizer.

Try HP Gel, our winter hydration secret to enhancing skin moisture with hyaluronic acid.

    2. Clarify

It’s one of Dr. Few’s beauty tricks for 2016 — retinol! A vitamin A extract, retinol gets rid of fine lines and wrinkles at night, clarifies the skin and keeps the pores clear, which is also great for controlling adult acne. Be sure to only use a retinol every other night during the winter months to avoid dehydrating your skin.

Try our R•nol 20 Serum to enhance cell turnover with less irritation than prescription retinoids.

    3. Exfoliate

Even with your best efforts to keep winter skin fresh and hydrated, there’s another crucial step: exfoliation. While a retinol aids in skin cell turnover, it’s exfoliation that actually cleans that dead layer off to reveal the clean and clear skin underneath.

Try MD Scrub, specially formulated to remove dead skin cells and reveal healthier, younger looking skin!

  • Is Your Skin Ready for Fall?

The cooler weather that blows in with Fall means drier air. While it’s a nice change from the hot and sticky days of summer, it also changes your skin’s needs. Drier air equals drier skin and that means signs of skin damage and dullness become more apparent. The key to keeping your skin beautiful despite the change in weather? We’ve got 3:

    1. R•nol 20

The natural process of skin cell turnover slows down as we age, which creates dull skin and also emphasizes fine lines and wrinkles. R•nol 20, a medical-grade retinol serum, helps to turn these cells over. As a bonus, it also helps to unclog pores, which means fewer acne breakouts (for both young and mature skin alike!). Use daily.

    2. MD Scrub

A second contributor to dull skin is the dead skin cells that build up on the skin’s surface. While R•nol 20 turns them over, you still need some extra elbow to remove them. That’s where MD Scrub comes in. With a clay base, this product delivers gentle heat as it removes dry dead skin cells and minimizes excess skin oil ultimately revealing clearer, healthier, younger looking skin that glows. Use 2x per week.

    3. Moisture Complete

The finishing touch? A moisture boost, of course, to both hydrate and protect the fresh skin you’ve uncovered with regular retinol use and a good weekly (or so) scrub. This is also the time of year to up your moisture level. For most skin types we recommend Moisture Complete. For very oily skin types, try Sheer Moisture. Use daily.

  • Your Winter Skin Fix

When winter blows in with colder weather, that means drier air, which brings on dry skin and, unfortunately, more visible signs of aging, damage and dullness. But don't lose heart. There are a few simple steps you can take to say "no" to dehydration, dull skin and uneven skin tone, and a resounding "YES" to fresh and youthful skin this season!

    1. Scrub Away Dull Skin

No matter how well you take care of your skin, every few days it needs a good scrub to remove the dead skin cells that accumulate on the surface. These cells are responsible for overall dullness and are the culprits behind  making fine lines and wrinkles visible on the skin.

Keep your skin glowing with MD Scrub. Using a clay base, this product delivers gentle heat as it removes dry dead skin cells, minimizes excess oils and reveal healthier, younger looking skin.

    2. Hydration Help

As the moisture levels in the air decrease, so do those in the skin. It's a given that everyone should swap out their light summer moisturizer for a richer one come winter, but even that can leave a girl's skin wanting. Give your skin a little hydration help this year by adding a hyaluronic acid gel underneath your regular winter moisturizer.

Keep your skin hydrated and beautiful with HP Gel. Using hyaluronic acid, a natural component of the skin, HP Gel enhances skin moisture without heaviness.

    3. Reduce Redness

For all the damage the wind, colder temperatures and dry air can cause, we give thanks to skin serums that not only protect, but repair. The combination of green tea, resveratrol and caffeine have been shown in studies to reduce skin redness with 6 weeks of continued use.

Reduce redness and protect your skin with Daily Anti-Oxidant Power Serum. This product is an antioxidant powerhouse that includes green tea, resveratrol and caffeine to protect and repair delicate facial skin.
